Low power proportional valve gives simple, efficient control

Emerson’s ASCO Numatics has released the Sentronic LP, a new member in its family of Sentronic proportional valves. The Sentronic LP is an energy efficient solution for a range of applications, including those in the food and beverage industry, packaging operations, bottle filling and leak testing, and automotive manufacturing operations.

Sentronic LP provides an economical solution for those customers with relatively simple technical requirements, while maintaining high standards of efficiency and reliability. This product offers a modular and compact footprint, and is said to be easy to set up, making it an alternative to the more complex control valves on the market. It is available in size DN4 flange mount and inline versions, both of which use a 5-pin M12 connector, and consumes less than 4W of power.

Up to 10 valves can be mounted on a single flange-style mounting plate, all with the same pressure supply. The product is claimed to offer advanced software capabilities with its DAS software and user definable, password protected control parameters.

The valve is rated at 470NI/min flow, and has an adjustable pressure range from 0 to 3bar, 0 to 6bar or 0 to 10bar. It is said that predictable pressure is always delivered, even under demanding flow rates, extended duty cycles, long hold times, and complete loss of electrical power.
