If you work in powder-based AM processing, particularly (but not exclusively) with metals or plastics, you will find this course to be invaluable as you are guided through the critical aspects of powder handling and management in the form of a varied programme of presentations, demonstrations and workshops.

Leading on presentations, Professor Mike Bradley from the Wolfson Centre for Bulk Solids Handling Technology at the University of Greenwich, has worked internationally on design and troubleshooting of bulk solids handling as a commercial consultant and research expert for over thirty years. He will discuss how and why the characterisation and control of powder properties is critical to efficient processing and will guide delegates through an introduction to basic handling processes encountered, as well as looking at quality considerations.

Claus Aumund-Kopp, Group Leader for AM at the Fraunhofer IFAM Institute in Bremen, has worked with metal powders for AM powder bed fusion and AM binder jetting approaches for over fifteen years. He will be looking at current approaches to measure powder bed density and powder degradation as well as recycling, contamination and oxidation issues encountered.

Dr Neil Harrison, Materials Development Manager at LPW Technology, has over 5 years of academic and industrial experience in metal powder AM, including work on alloy design, powder behaviour and powder evolution. He will look at powder evolution and quality maintenance.

Should you attend? Anyone working in the powder-based additive manufacturing sector will benefit from attending this course. Ample opportunity will be given to discuss processing issues with both experts and other delegates.

On-line registration should be made via the course website
