eloProtect - machine safety switches designed for maximum safety

elobau has introduced a new range of machine safety switches which have been designed with increased performance and greater safety in mind. The new magnetically actuated eloProtectM, and RFID actuated eloProtectE switches, build on elobau's strong history of innovative and reliable machine safety products.

The eloProtect range has been designed for maximum safety, with the switches having increased tampering protection to reduce the possibility of manipulation, screw covers that prevent easy removal and PLe/SIL3 safety levels.

The design of the eloProtect sensors offers maximum flexibility, making them ideally suited too many applications thanks to their high IP67 and IP6k9k protection classes. They are resistant to aggressive media and mechanical influences and suitable for use in harsh environments, and for use in food and packaging industries. The switches are also available in two formats, either the 153 or 165 sizes, and have a sleek design with a compact and robust housing, making them extremely versatile.

The magnetic eloProtectM range offers increased sensing distances to allow for a greater misalignment of values between 3 and 5mm, which results in a reduction of unwanted influences from machine vibrations. LED indication is available in both contact forms (NO/NO and NO/NC), and there is an option to add an additional control contact. Their mechanical compatibility makes them especially flexible.

The RFID technology in the eloProtectE range enables the sensors to be coded individually. What does this mean? It means the tampering protection can be set according to the application. The device has 2 x 400mA current rated outputs which are capable of direct operation of contacts. This offers the flexibility of not requiring a safety relay, which is an added benefit for OEM’s manufacturing small or compact products. Alternatively, for larger systems, it can be used as part of a series connection with up to 30 sensors. Other features include on board external device monitoring (EDM)/reset/start and LED diagnostics.

Both safety sensors also offer maximum cost effectiveness with a long service life and high reliability thanks to the wear free technology, and are available with cable or pigtail and M12 connectors.
