The world’s leading bearing measurement system

Taylor Hobson has released the Form Talysurf PGI Bearings, bearing measurement system. It is said to be easy to set up and use for the critical analysis of high precision bearings, radius, form, surface finish, contour and dominant wavelength and provides feedback for improvements in design and production.

The system incorporates a patented ball-calibration routine using high-precision spherical calibration artefacts that have been produced to high standards and calibrated for radius, form and surface finish in Taylor Hobson’s own UKAS approved laboratory.

The Form Talysurf PGI Bearings is claimed to feature a gauge range of up to 20mm and resolution down to 0.3nm, a noise floor of less than 2nm/Rq (said to be the lowest in the world), form accuracy of less than 0.2µm over full gauge displacement and a radius accuracy of 0.006%.

The device comes with a suite of software analysis packages, including DXF Creator, TalyMap Contour, Advanced Dual Profile, Morphological Filtering, Dominant Wavelength, Gothic Arch Analysis, Helix Angle Correction and LS Arc Auto. These can all be accessed through a simplified Q-Link Production Interface.
