Rod end bearing can handle higher tensile loads

Bearing specialist igus UK has unveiled the igubal EBRM-16 V, a steel/plastic rod end bearing designed to bridge the gap between traditional steel and plastic bearings in terms of load capabilities.

The device features an integrated metal insert, which enables it to handle tensile loads of up to 15kN, a 50% increase over standard igubal rod end bearings. The rod end is said to be lighter than a full steel version and its core plastic properties mean it is resistant to chemicals, corrosion, dirt and debris. It also has high vibration and dampening qualities.
