Superhydrophobic coating repels almost any liquid
Ultra-tech, a Florida-based containment provider for chemical clean-up and waste management, has developed a super-hydrophobic and oleophobic coating that can repel almost any liquid.
Ultra-Ever Dry uses a proprietary nanotechnology to coat an object and create a near invisible barrier of air on its surface.
The company claims the coating offers improved adhesion and abrasion resistance compared to previous iterations, allowing for a diverse range of uses.
The product can be applied with a spray gun and finishes up to a translucent white sheen. A single coating is reported to last between two and eight months in direct sunlight and outdoor conditions before re-coating is needed.
