Lenze presents new I/O system - High functionality and compact design

The new I/O system 1000 from Lenze combines extensive functionality with a modular mechanical concept and compact design. As part of the L-force product portfolio, it is easy to integrate into control systems with other Lenze equipment. The I/O system is capable of handling real-time control signals with a minimal internal cycle time. Consequently it is suitable for motion buses such as CANopen, PROFIBUS DP and EtherCAT. Installation of the system is particularly easy with no tools required and the slim design is remarkably compact.

I/O systems are increasingly used to simplify control and sensor signal handling. The simplification can save time at installation by reducing a mass of wiring down to a single fieldbus cable. The modular Lenze I/O system 1000 comprises blocks of width only 12.5 mm that clip into a standard DIN rail system. One station is made up with a bus coupler module plus up to 64 further modules of digital or analog I/O and optional 24V/5V dc power supplies. A single 12.5 mm block of digital input or output can have up to 8 connections in npn or pnp formats. The design of the new I/O system 1000 has been made with particular attention to ease of use. Modules snap into place and tension spring technology allows cable connection without clamping screws. Each wire connection has a bright LED indicator making commissioning and diagnostics easier, particularly inside poorly lit panels. These processes are further aided by the ability to label each connection on the front of the module, together with wiring diagrams on the side and base. Shield connections are built in to speed installation, and for service and maintenance the electronics can be unplugged without disturbing the wiring. The new Lenze I/O system 1000 suits centralised PC control of machinery with fast transmission rates and easy handling.
