Creaform's latest 3D scan-to-CAD software

Creaform has released the VXmodel, its 3D scan data post-treatment software module, fully integrated in VXelements 4.0. It provides the tools required for scan-to-CAD or scan-to-print workflows.

The latest functionalities included in the software release are; auto-surface tools to automatically generate NURBS that characterise freeform surfaces in a high-quality patch network. Through this function, the scan is automatically converted to an IGES or STEP file. 3D mesh comparison enables deviation measurements between two meshes or between a CAD model and a mesh. This validates your reference scan with the conformity of your reverse engineering. Also, users can benefit from a plugin that enables the import of the standard STL file format.

VXmodel combines functionalities, such as alignment, geometrical entities and cross-sections, mesh improvement and mesh editing. It features the necessary tools to help modify the 3D scan mesh, making it watertight and able to quickly generate print-ready files for your rapid manufacturing process.
