School of Race Engineering 2016 dates announced

The Motorsport Industry Association (MIA) has announced the dates for the second annual School of Racing Engineering. The event will take place over the weekends of 12 to 13 and 19 to 20 March 2016 at the Sahara Force India Formula One Team Headquarters in Silverstone and Base Performance Simulators in Banbury, respectively.

MIA CEO, Chris Aylett said: “We want to give students the best possible start to their careers in motorsport and provide better- trained engineers for UK race teams.”

The event is aimed at individuals who wish to further their career in race engineering. Using Base Performance Simulators, alongside a classroom environment, delegates will learn from current race engineers, who will share their in-depth knowledge and experience. The school is open to UK and International delegates, engineering students, graduates and technicians - who want to further their experience and education to help secure a position within this highly competitive industry.

The course will be taught by race engineers including Andy Brown and Rex Keen who, collectively, have over 50 years’ motorsport experience in multiple disciplines. These experienced motorsport professionals will pass on their knowledge to bridge the gap between education and the pit-wall.
