University of Bristol partners with Airbus

The University of Bristol has signed a partnership agreement with Airbus to build on the commitments from both parties for training, education and diversity.

Bristol is one of seven universities from across Europe to sign the partnership agreements, with academic institutions from France, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands also taking part.

Professor Andrew Nix, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, said: "This agreement further cements the University's long-standing and productive relationship with Airbus. I'm particularly pleased that this agreement focuses on engaging our students with a world-class player in the aerospace industry."

The agreements aim to foster long-term collaboration in areas such as complex systems, architecture and integration; networks and content security; manufacturing and engineering; programme and project management; the development of common educational programmes and designing student competitions.

Thierry Baril, chief human resources officer of Airbus Group, said: "These partnership agreements underline our commitment to work hand-in-hand with academics and engineering education leaders to develop and secure the competences that the aerospace industry will need in the future.

Baril continued: "Developing a future talent pipeline is vital to our success. We are proud to partner with such prestigious universities to pursue this objective."
