Second generation ball screws are quieter

NSK has developed Ball Screw Generation II, the second generation of high speed and low noise ball screws. Noise caused by the raceway has been reduced from Generation I, as well as an increase in speed of at least 40%.

The Ball Screw II Series has been developed to subdue machinery reverberation and raceway noise across the entire range of operating conditions. This is achieved largely by using innovation in the production process.

NSK claims that Ball Screw Generation II helps set a new standard in lowering the decibel levels emitted by all manner of industrial machines, particularly compact and/or lightweight models. This applies not just to machine tools, but carrier devices, LCD and semiconductor manufacturing equipment, and medical inspection and measurement devices.
