Continued investment in spite of recession

Despite the economic downturn, one mould tools specialist is committed to a major investment programme.

As part of this programme, ARRK Tooling Development has completed a refurbishment of its moulding facility in Langrish. The 100,000 sq foot facility is a specialist tool trial centre as well as a low volume production facility for some of ARRK Tooling's clients. Having added 25t, 70t, 90t, 250t, 370t & 650t injection moulding machines from other facilities to its existing range of machines at Langrish, ARRK says that the plant can handle a variety of jobs from bumpers to small medical components. Phil Mould, managing director of ARRK Tooling's facilities in Havant and Langrish, said that so far there has been an investment of around £500,000 in the plant. Whilst adding all these machines and installing a 5 axis, 6m bed CNC machine, CMM and digital scanning arm, we've also refurbished and modernised the plant layout so that we have a more efficient throughput cycle. It looks fantastic and everyone gets a real buzz from working here."
