Schaeffler to showcase rotary, linear and ball bearings at Engineering Design Show

Schaeffler UK will demonstrate its extensive range of linear, rotary and ball roller bearings at the Engineering Design Show, which takes place between 10th and 11th October at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.

A headline sponsor of the Show, Schaeffler will be sharing its stand with partner company the Barden Corporation UK, and will also be hosting a free workshop session on how the latest engine, chassis and transmission components and systems can deliver significant improvements in both fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Visitors to Stand D10 will be able to see a selection of linear actuators for multi-axis positioning and handling systems, as well as Schaeffler's comprehensive range of ball bearings and roller bearings, including needle roller bearings, track rollers, bearings for screw drives, insert bearings and housed units, and X-life premium quality bearings. Another focus on the stand will be the company's 'Glass Car' software programme, which shows how Schaeffler components and systems in a standard passenger car contribute to more compact, lightweight vehicle designs, enabling reduced fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Taking place on the first day of the Show and hosted by Schaffler's principal engineer Stewart Davies, the Innovative bearing and precision components for low carbon powertrain design workshop will demonstrate how unique bearing concepts have replaced conventional bearings to contribute to more compact designs, improved engine efficiency, lighter weight vehicles and reduced manufacturing costs. A low carbon case study will also highlight the significant contribution that customised hybrid bearing designs have made to the commercial success of a novel electric motor.
