SMAC manufacture a range of electric cylinders and linear slides using moving coil actuator technology.
The actuators are claimed to offer fully programmable control of speed, position and force. Designed to perform at high speeds with a high degree of accuracy and repeatability, SMAC electric cylinders and linear slides are suitable for a range of positioning, measuring, inspection and pick and place applications.
Other features of the SMAC electric actuators include a resolution of 5µm to 100nm; low moving mass and high acceleration; a direct drive that offers no backlash and high repeatability; long operating life of over 250million cycles between failures. The unit is also said to be officially ‘silent’ in operation, producing less than 55dB.
