The equipment you work on has a huge impact on the amount of energy your business consumes, but does ‘efficient’ mean compromise?

British manufacturer, Zanshuri, specialises in the design and manufacture of highly energy-efficient computer systems. From its base in Essex, the company produces a range of laptop, desktop and server systems that deliver high performance and high standards of reliability whilst consuming up to 90% less electricity than others with similar performance.

The company has been able to achieve remarkable results through a combination of novel engineering solutions. These include the application of solid-state storage, fanless designs where possible and wind-tunnel testing to optimise the movement of air within a defined enclosure. Furthermore, Zanshuri says that none of its systems are under-clocked or feature-disabled in any way... unless requested by the client.

Since 2010, Zanshuri has supplied systems in the UK and beyond, finding applications in areas as diverse as finance, education, healthcare and scientific research to name a few. It aims to continue developing cutting-edge solutions that do not compromise performance yet are able to significantly reduce the carbon-footprint of organisations dependent on IT.

In 2016 an independent assessment of one of Zanshuri’s solutions on site at Newham and Havering Council was found to offer an energy and maintenance cost saving of over £7 million pounds a year, compared to the incumbent system.

The business has recently added two new systems to its growing range. One is the Sigma VR, an incredibly high-performance Virtual Reality computer system, which marries multi-GPU technology with Active Power Management to deliver the best of both worlds.

The second is Epsilon, a completely silent, fanless, Intel Quad core system, which features no moving parts and can be configured to run the Windows 10 64-bit operating system at less than 5W on DC power or 7W on AC.

As well as aiming to reduce the environmental impact that computing can have, Zanshuri says its quieter and more energy-efficient computing solutions can alleviate stress in the workplace. It offers a three-year warranty on all its products with lifetime support, which it says leads to it offering some of the most reliable and dependable computers on the market.

I am delighted to see that Zanshuri has been recognised for their achievements. There is always the struggle to get over the HP/Dell axis and now there is a Brit company who can really provide excellent computing product with significant power savings. good on them.
I've been using a Zanshuri Epsilon computer for nearly a year now and absolutely love it! When my fellow director needed a new machine, with a higher spec for graphics work, he ordered a Zanshuri Delta i7 which, by sheer coincidence, has been delivered today! He has only used it for a couple of hours but it's so fast and both machine are completely silent. And energy saving of course. We are delighted and would thoroughly recommend Zanshuri computers.
